SMU paved the way for our family's first college graduate. Born to the Potash immigrant family from two continents, Rose Marie was given the Sanger Harris Scholarship, which provided four years of learning and giving back. The Strombergs, immigrants from two Russian countries, were proud parents and grandparents of New Americans, which are also giving back to the community via medicine, law and volunteerism. The next generation looks bright as we watch its youth prepare for the betterment of society.
SMU's commitment to adult learning, teacher training, summer programs for students at risk, religious studies, continued sensitivity to scholarshipping needs, and community service for its enrollees, all add to the new 100 years that begins in 2015.
May all of the expectations of former students and students yet-to-come be fulfilled in the hands of a caring faculty, board, and administration. Our families' best wishes and gratitude.
