Godspeed is an expression of one's good wishes for a person's success and safety on a long dangerous journey. Little did I know when I graduated from SMU that I would be embarking on such a journey but what an adventure it has been. I joined the military after graduation and finished Army Flight School at the top of my class to fly helicopters for the Texas Guard. I then began my airline career with American Eagle living and flying in the Caribbean. To this day it was the best flying I’ve done in my career. In 2003 I was deployed to Iraq flying Army and Marine soldiers throughout Iraq and Kuwait. It was a great experience that I am proud to be a part of. After that I eventually landed my dream job of flying for American Airlines. I remembered doing a presentation to one of my finance classes about American Airlines and now I am a pilot for them. Godspeed is not a reference to God but God is very important in my life and the reason for my success! What a journey it has been!
