DDB 06, 10 BBB 06
Our mom, Pamela Brown, sacrificed everything in a horrible divorce from our father who refused to pay a penny for our college education and in a stressful move to Dallas to insure that we both (Desiree Dawn Brown = DDB and Brandon Blaise Brown = BBB) had the best opportunity for success. She spent endless hours on the phone in Spring 2002 talking to Jim Bryan, who was Desiree's admission counselor, trying (and successfully so) to get financial aid to cover what wasn't covered by scholarships. In Spring 2003, she did the same thing again for Brandon. Our mother persevered when others said what she was trying to do was impossible. She found us a home to live in when we nearly became homeless. Our needs always came before her own needs. She made us laugh when we felt like crying. And she made sure that her two children could graduate with honors from SMU (DDB w/ BA & BS Spring 2006 & MS Spring 2010 and BBB w/ BA Fall 2006) and proved that she was really stronger than she looked!
