About Delia Jasso Delia D. Jasso, a lifelong resident of Dallas, was elected to the Dallas City Council in June 2009 to represent District 1. She was re-elected in May 2011 to continue representing District 1. She was the Senior Director of Community Relations at Children's Medical Center in Dallas, 2013-2015. She currently runs a Consulting business. 2002-2009, she served on the City of Dallas Park and Recreation Board and In 2005, was elected Vice President of the Board by the Dallas City Council. Delia is the Chairwoman of the Board of Texans Can Academies and has held this position since 2008 to present which has grown to 13 campuses in Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, Ft. Worth, and Houston graduating over 130 thousand students of which 95% are economically disadvantaged.
She created the anti graffitti symposium, the Dallas Loves Animals committee, and the Dallas LGBT task force while on the council. Her district included Bishop Arts and sponsored re-development from 2009-2013.
