I attended SMU from Jan 1974 & Graduated Dec 1977 with BS degree in Biology, Minor in Chemistry & Black History. I was very active on campus. In 1977 I received the coveted "M" Award for outstanding service to the University from President Dr. Zumberg. I helped to get & develop a Black History Department, Instituted Title IX the integration of Women's Athletics, Served on the Search committees that nominated and selected Dr Zumberg to be University President, the Head Football Coach Ron Meyers, Helped with Football player recruitment, and Basketball coach Sonny Allen. Helped to get a BLAACS & CHICANO house and all the furnishing and Murals painted on the Walls. President of the Founding chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, INC. Nu Iota Chapter May 1976. Represented minorities on most of the different University college boards. Helped to integrate the Cheerleading Squad. Helped develop local minority recruitment. Resident Assistant of Tower APT. Served on the SMU Alumni Board in the 1980's.
