SMU truly shaped the trajectory of my life. In 1990, when I processed through the Rotunda in Dallas Hall, I was a 17 year old freshman with much to learn - in and outside the classroom. SMU taught me to balance academics and fun. I joined a sorority, sang in Pigskin Revues, served as an AARO leader, performed for Bob Hope (my grandmas loved it), & more. When I recessed back through Dallas Hall, I'd met lifelong friends & my husband Stephen, developed critical leadership skills, and figured out who I was. Because I was the first woman on either side of my family to earn a Bachelors degree, graduation was particularly meaningful for me, my mom and my grandmothers. In 1997 my entire family, including my new in-laws, were there when I earned my law degree & again in 1999 for my master of laws. On LLM graduation day, my Dad earned his J.D. making it the first time a daughter had hooded her father. Stephen and I live in Dallas, where we are raising two SMU legacies. Thank you, SMU. #PonyUp
