SMU's effort to advance engineering education and research to create the new American engineer is headquartered in the Bobby B. Lyle School of Engineering's new Caruth Hall.
The facility brings together students and faculty who dare to think boldly, creating collaborative opportunities for tackling big problems that matter to the world. SMU's research impact will continue to reach even greater heights in providing the innovative solutions needed by industry and society while also developing and challenging young minds to become leaders of the future.
Over the past five years, the Bobby B. Lyle School of Engineering at SMU has pursued an aggressive plan to provide our students and faculty with the most modern, technologically advanced classrooms and laboratories. With the support of our alumni, parents and friends, the school has gained remarkable momentum. In 2002, SMU completed the Jerry R. Junkins Electrical Engineering Building and, in 2006, dedicated the J. Lindsay Embrey Engineering Building, one of the first LEED Gold-certified academic facilities in the nation. With the new Caruth Hall, a laboratory of innovation for the future, the SMU Lyle School of Engineering demonstrates its unwavering commitment to create and implement nationally significant programs and research that will develop future leaders who will change the world.
