Brad Bankhead

Honorary Membership
North Central Texas College

It is my pleasure today to recognize Brad Bankhead with Honorary Membership to TACRAO. Brad begin his careen in higher education at Paris Junior College in 1987 where he served as Coordinator of Admissions and later Director of Admissions until 1993. From there Brad went to Tarrant County College, serving as the Registrar for the Northwest Campus and later the Southeast Campus.

In 1999, Brad left TCC for Tarleton University where he was the Dean of Enrollment Services. In 2004, Brad left the great state of Texas for New Mexico where he served as Associate Vice President and Associate Vice Provost of Enrollment Management. From there Brad has worked as the Vice President of Student Affairs at Colorado Mountain College District and served as Interim Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at St. Louis Community College and Baton Rouge Community College.

Although we lost Brad to out of state opportunities, we never forgot his contributions to TACRAO. During his 17 year tenure, Brad served as TACRAO Vice President for Registration and Records and the President and Secretary of the North Texas Council of College and University Registrars and Admissions Officers. Brad also served on various committees, including the State of Texas Commission's Task force on the Texas Common Course Number system, and served as presenter and facilitator for many TACRAO sessions.

Those of us that know and had a chance to work with him would describe Brad as a great friend and mentor who was always ready with an easy smile, a joke and a supportive word. For me personally, Brad was one of the first higher ed professionals I met as a new recruiter straight out of college. I enjoyed my interactions with Brad because even as a "newbie" he treated me like one of the group and made me feel a part of the new profession. I remember thinking "what a loss" we'd suffered when he left us for NM.

Today it is great to say he's moved back to Texas to be closer to family, and has joined Grayson College as their Institutional Effectiveness Coordinator

and it is my honor to present him with TACRAO Honorary Membership.
