As we approach the conclusion of the SMU Second Century Campaign, we have much to celebrate!

Our wonderful new dean, Sam Holland, has hit the ground running, and the exciting progress at SMU Meadows continues under his thoughtful, engaged leadership.

We are thrilled to report that our alumni support has increased from single digit participation at the beginning of the campaign to a record 21.2% as of May 31. This is a remarkable jump and we are most grateful for your contribution! Not only does your annual gift have a tremendous impact on the lives of current Meadows students, but it is also a vote of confidence in your alma mater. Alumni participation is critical to the success of our institution and we greatly appreciate your involvement and support.

Three years ago the Meadows Alumni Advisory Council was established to serve as a brain trust for the dean. Since then, the group has provided invaluable feedback, volunteer hours, support and guidance. In the beginning it asked for better communication from the school in more channels, and MPRINT is a direct result of that feedback. We hope you have enjoyed the publication as a way to keep up with what is happening at Meadows and with its current students and alumni.

In May, we celebrated the graduation of another fantastic class of Meadows students. We were honored that 2005 theatre alum Katie Featherston, the star of Paranormal Activity, returned to deliver the alumni welcome address to the graduates. As Katie said, "You're entering this world as a Meadows alum, which means you're part of a network of committed and deeply talented people who can be the foundation of your professional life." The Meadows alumni base is unique, talented and creative, and our recent grads are thrilled to be joining the alumni ranks.

The Meadows Foundation's historic $45 million grant is due in large part to your commitment to advance the Meadows School, as demonstrated through your annual gifts. Annual engagement and participation is a metric of institutional excellence highly valued by The Meadows Foundation, and your commitment to SMU Meadows was a key indicator of success that helped secure this incredible grant.

Thank you for staying connected with us and supporting us. We love hearing from you, and if we can ever be a resource for you at Meadows, please don't hesitate to contact Ellen Jackson, director of annual giving and alumni relations, at ellenjackson@smu.edu.
