About this creative
Hello! My name is Alyson Marie Davis and I've been playing the cello since I was 4 years old. Since then I've studied with many teachers including Christopher Adkins, principle cellist of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra (DSO), Jennifer Humphreys, member of the DSO, as well as my mother, Tracy Davis, retired orchestra coordinator and director in Rockwall, TX. Today, I study under Andres Diaz, cello professor at SMU.
In past experiences I've traveled, studied, and performed cello all over the United States. I've attended numerous events such as Tanglewood in Massachusetts, Honor Orchestra of America in Indianapolis, as well as Music in the Mountains in Denver, CO. I'm also a 2-year Texas All-State cellist having performed with the Philharmonic (2016) and Symphony (2017) Orchestras. In addition I've also made Superior (1+) ratings in the Texas Solo-Ensemble Contest 4 years in a row.
As a musician, I feel responsible to pass down what I've been taught and what I'm still learning. I love showing people how music can better our lives and influence the world around us.
I hope the cello can bring someone just as much joy, if not more, as it has brought me.
