I grew up in Fairfield Connecticut, and music has always been a big part of my life. I've sung in my church's choir since I was in middle school. In high school, I was the captain of the Jazz Ensemble for two years, and I was a section leader in the Wind Ensemble. I was a member of Tri-M music honor society. My senior year, I won the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award and the John Philip Sousa Band Award. I also performed in the Greater Bridgeport Youth Orchestra for six years, three of which I also played bassoon. Now, at SMU, I have been a member of the Meadows Wind Ensemble since my freshman year. I am also a member of the Meadows Jazz Orchestra. I'm also still active singing in church. For the past year, I've been learning how to perform Byzantine chant music. I love to play the sax, so I'd be interested in any opportunity that could use a sax player.
