Jeff Tullis is a composer, double bassist, and guitarist in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He studies at SMU Meadows School of the Arts with Brian Perry, Jamal Mohamed, Robert Frank, Kevin Hanlon, Derrick Horne, and many others. He previously studied bass with Paul Unger and Chris White. As a bassist, Jeff performs regularly around Dallas and Fort Worth with the Matt Shaw Quartet and the Kipp Brewer jazz groups, Four Strings Attached string quartet, and leads his own rock, jazz, world, and classical ensembles. Jeff has also appeared at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Montreux, Switzerland with the Paschal Jazz Ensemble, toured Italy with the award-winning Fort Worth Youth Orchestra, and has been playing musicals, festivals, parties, studio sessions, and concerts in DFW since he was fourteen. Jeff's compositions and songs include works for jazz ensemble, string quartet, piano, and guitar, and have been commissioned and performed around the area by groups such as the Alcantara Arts Group, Meadows World Music Ensemble, Four Strings Attached string quartet, Daggett Montessori School Orchestra, University Christian Church Music Ministry, Paschal High School String Quartet, and Thielke Jazz Combo.
