Violinist Juhyun Kim graduated from Chungbuk Art High School, then received her Bachelor of Music degree from Kyungwon University in Korea. Upon graduating, she joined the first violin section in tenured position with the Chungbuk Philharmonic Orchestra, one of South Korea’s most highly-regarded orchestras. She performed with Chungbuk Philharmonic Orchestra for seven years, participating in up to 50 concerts per year. Juhyun has appeared as soloist with numerous orchestras including Chungbuk Philharmonic Orchestra, Cheongju Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble Hue, Chungbuk Chamber Orchestra, and performed as an invited soloist at the Chungbuk Art Festival. Juhyun is a laureate of numerous national and international competitions and performed winner’s recital at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York City.
After moving to the United States, Juhyun is completed her Graduate Artist Certificate at University of North Texas (UNT), studying with Professor Philip Lewis. At UNT, she was a selected violinist for UNT Center Trio and concertmaster for UNT Symphony Orchestra. She is currently pursuing her Performer’s Diploma at Southern Methodist University (SMU) with Professor Chad Hoopes. Juhyun is also currently in the violin section of the Richardson Symphony Orchestra and Las Colinas Symphony Orchestra.
