About this creative
Jonathan Valenzuela is a classical guitarist and pianist in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He has been studying the guitar for seven years and the piano for eleven. He currently studies classical guitar at Southern Methodist University under the tutelage of world-renowned guitarist Robert Guthrie, and is pursuing Bachelors of Music in Guitar Performance and Music Education. In addition to performing, he has three years of private and studio teaching and offers guitar, piano, ukulele, and bass lessons. He currently holds a private studio of twelve students and teaches at Rockwall School of Music and the Studios of Sarah Strout. In addition to teaching traditional piano and classical guitar, he also teaches electric, acoustic, and bass guitar, for students who are interested in more popular genres such as rock, pop, and jazz. The level of his students on each instrument range from beginning to advanced. Students who study piano with him are taught with the Alfred piano series. These students quickly progress and are performing works by Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven usually by the end of their first year of study. Students who study guitar work with a different curriculum and demonstrate substantial progress within the first year.
