My name is Kirstyn Norris Alarcon, and I am a percussionist in the DFW area. I completed my undergraduate degree in Percussion Performance at Kansas State University. During my time there I participated in many ensembles, including serving as the principle timpanist of the orchestra for 3 years. I was fortunate enough during my time there to travel to Havana, Cuba and participate in a student transfer program at the National Conservatory. I have also participated in both WGI and DCI groups as a marimbas in the 2016 season. During my time at KSU, I performed in both chamber ensembles and large groups who performed across the United States, including Carnegie Hall. My studies have brought me to Southern Methodist University, where I am working to obtain my Masters of Music in percussion. I currently serve in the New Texas Orchestra as a section percussionist, and play drum set at several churches in the metroplex. My solo specialties are percussion keyboards and Latin hand drumming.
