My name is Michael Christopher and I am a Freshman at Southern Methodist University double majoring in Vocal Performance and World Languages. I am an aspiring opera singer who focuses mostly on opera and art song. I want to impact the world with my art. As a classical singer, I strive to bridge the gap between modern day social issues and music written hundreds of years ago. Having been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to make my professional opera debut with The Dallas Opera as the second priest in The Magic Flute at 19 years old, I am well on my way to developing this part of my artistry that is so deeply rooted in a belief that everyone deserves happiness, chance, music, and life. I firmly believe in equality and that if a group of people are oppressed, then the system is inherently flawed for everyone. Music, art, and stories bridge the gap because they embrace emotions and start conversations, which can lead to important social change. Thank you so much for taking the time to read, and don't hesitate to contact me!
