Lauren White was born into a musical family in Southeast Missouri. Lauren’s musical training began in ballet class at the age of three and was soon augmented by piano lessons at age five. She chose oboe in seventh grade beginning band and within two years played oboe in Handel’s “Messiah.” Lauren’s musical accolades include performances with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the 2015 and 2016 Eastern Music Festival orchestras, the 2014 Rocky Ridge Young Artist Seminar Orchestra, the Saint Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra, the Interlochen Oboe Institute, and three years in the Missouri All-State Band. Lauren has studied with Cally Banham, English hornist of the St. Louis Symphony; oboe with Laura Guyer Ross of Washington University; reed-making with Dr. Dan Ross of Arkansas State University; and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Oboe performance at Southern Methodist University in Dallas as a student of Erin Hannigan, Principal Oboist of the Dallas Symphony, and of David Matthews, English hornist of the Dallas Symphony. Lauren is also an accomplished pianist, having been chosen as the “best pianist” by the Southeast Missouri Federation of Music Clubs, and currently studies with Alfred Mouledous at Southern Methodist University.
