I was born and raised in Seattle, Washington and began my studies in cello at age five. Institutions such as the Academy of Music Northwest and Seattle Conservatory exposed me to rigorous classical music training and gave me opportunities to solo with orchestras, perform string quartets, and teach younger cellists. I studied with Juilliard graduate Rajan Krishnaswami until I finished high school, and then move to Austin, Texas where I completed a Bachelor's of Music Performance at the University of Texas at Austin. My previous mentor at UT Austin is the highly acclaimed cellist Bion Tsang who was a bronze medalist at the International Tchaikovsky Competition. My studies brought me to Southern Methodist University under the tutelage of world renowned soloist Andrés Díaz. The mentorship of these fine cellists and many more musicians has given me a wealth of knowledge and experience in the art of cello playing. I have the technical and musical skills to teach and inspire cellists who need a nurturing environment and open place to ask questions about music and the cello.
