Sam Park



Bio

Sam Park is a teacher and horn player in Dallas, Texas. A junior at Southern Methodist University, Sam is a music education major and studies horn with Gregory Hustis, former principal horn of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and Haley Hoops, 2nd horn of the DSO.

In addition, Sam is on staff with Bridge the Gap, the only student-led 501(c) nonprofit organization on SMU campus. With Bridge the Gap, Sam organizes performing opportunities for SMU musicians and facilitates educational outreach events for at-risk children in Dallas ISD.

As a young teacher, Sam has already started to make a name for himself, having taught leadership workshops and summer band camps in Austin, Houston, and the DFW Metroplex. He presented a clinic about student leadership at the 2014 Texas Bandmasters Association Student Day for nearly 2000 Texas band students. Sam is also a marching technician at Highland Park High School and a private lesson teacher in Plano ISD.

Beyond his teaching endeavors, Sam freelances in Dallas and regularly performs with the SMU Meadows Symphony Orchestra, Meadows Wind Ensemble, and various chamber music groups. Through music education, Sam hopes to inspire his students to become lifelong learners and patrons of the arts.
