Clara McLain is a classically trained guitarist from Dallas, Texas. Clara began classical guitar lessons when she was just seven years old, and played her first public performance when she was ten. When Clara was thirteen, she began studying with classical guitarist and composer David Brandon of Texas Tech University in Lubbock; and she has since competed, and placed, in several national and international classical guitar competitions, and performed in master classes held by such world-renowned guitarists as Ana Vidović, Adam Holzman, Matt Palmer, and Gohar Vardanyan. Since the spring of 2012, Clara has been studying with Robert Guthrie, Professor of Guitar, at Southern Methodist University’s Meadows School of the Arts, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree. Clara also has over five years of teaching experience; and she currently teaches guitar and ukulele through The Studios of Sarah Strout in Dallas.
