Marissa Pyron

Bio

I am a junior at SMU studying Vocal Performance with a minor in Musical Theater. I can sing a wide variety of styles from opera and classical to musical theater and pop. I can also play piano and guitar. I enjoy writing songwriting in my free time. Additionally, I have skills in both Spanish and Italian. I have performed in many Meadows productions including The Magic Flute with Meadows Opera Theater and Spring Awakening with SMU Program Council. I am a founding member of the award-winning a cappella group Stampede who has performed for former President George W. Bush, sung with counter tenor John Holiday, and won the SMU Family Weekend Talent Show two years in a row. I have also performed in productions outside of Meadows including Songs For A New World with North Texas Performing Arts. I am very passionate about music and hope to form a career singing either opera or musical theater. When I'm not singing, I'm most likely watching food network or cuddling with my two lhasa apsos.
