A classically trained and versatile flutist, Annabelle Kim has been playing for seven years and currently studies under Kara Kirkendoll at Southern Methodist University. She offers teaching and performing as a soloist, chamber player, and orchestral musician.
She has participated in the TMEA All-State ensembles for three years, including as principal flute of the Philharmonic Orchestra and assistant principal flute of the Symphony Orchestra. She was a member of the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra for four years and played flute and piccolo in the organization's most prestigious orchestra.
She has won first place at the Dallas Symphonic Festival Concerto Competition, the MTNA Texas and South Central Division, and the Denton Bach Society Young Artist Competition. She is a three-time University Interscholastic League Texas State Solo Outstanding Soloist, four-time Texas Flute Festival Outstanding Soloist, twice finalist of the Donna Marie Haire Young Artist Competition, and most recently a finalist at the national level of the Music Teachers National Association High School Woodwind Division competition.
She has studied under Monica Song and Won Lee and has performed in masterclasses with Bonita Boyd, Alexa Still, Demarre McGill, Conor Nelson, Nina Perlove, and Mary Karen Clardy.
