Bio

I've been studying the flute for about 11 years now, having started my training in Dallas under Kara Welch and Claire Johnson. I received my Bachelors degree at the University of Cincinnati- College-Conservatory of Music, studying with Dr. Bradley Garner, in flute performance and am currently in the Masters program at SMU for flute performance as well. I have 3 years of experience in private teaching and have performed as a soloist and in chamber groups inside and outside of school settings. In 2014, I was a winner in the National Flute Association Masterclass Competition with Mimi Stillman in Chicago. In the same year, I performed with my woodwind quintet in the Berlin Wind Quintet Masterclass at the University of Cincinnati- College-Conservatory of Music. I’ve had extensive training in classical music but have also studied new music in the recent years. Beatbox flute is a contemporary technique performance that I have knowledge in, and I have a video of my performance on Youtube with over 1.3 million views.
